PARENT CHAPERONES ARE NEEDED

4/18/2017

The Hyack Parade and Spring Band Camp
May 27th and May 28th

The rules have changed - without chaperones, we cannot go.
We need 1 chaperone for every 10 musicians, and without that, we will not be able to attend the Hyack Parade in B.C. and Spring Band Camp at Camp Casey. Please, sign up to chaperone today.

The 46th Annual International Parade is a great kick-off to our Spring Parade Season.  In 2016 the Rough Rider Marching Band performed flawlessly in a driving rain, and we cannot wait to get back and do it again this year in better weather.  Students will enjoy dinner in Vancouver after the parade, and head back across the border for an overnight at Camp Casey on Whidbey Island.  Transportation is by Charter Bus and the return date is May 28th.  This is not to be missed.  Get your passports/birth certificates ready.

CONGRATULATIONS

Our participating in the PNW Band Festival has been Canceled

2/6/2017

We Regret to Inform you....

Roosevelt Wind Ensemble families,

Seattle School District has just declared a two-hour late start, no field trips for Tuesday, February 7th.

As much as I'd like to go ahead with our participation in the festival, I cannot go against District policy, nor put families in danger on potentially icy roads during early morning hours.

Regretfully, we will NOT be participating in the 2017 UW Wind Festival.

My sincere thanks to all the parents who were prepared to support our participation through chaperoning and equipment transportation. You are the BEST!

I was so excited to present our Wind Ensemble for the first time at the UW Festival!

Be safe out there, and we'll see all you students for school at 10:45 tomorrow.

Best regards,

Mr. Brown
