Hello Band Families!
We hope this finds you with power, and without too many branches all over! We have two big events coming up, plus our annual fundraiser/service activity and uniform fittings, all in addition to school starting.
Fall Band Picnic: this Thursday, September 3, from 5:30-7:30 at Ravenna Park. This will kick off the the new year, and Mr. Brown will be there to tell you all about it. Please join us - all band families are welcome, this is not just for Marching Band.
Please bring a dish to share. Boosters will provide cups, plates, cutlery, napkins and soda
Going by last names, please bring enough for 8 - 12 people:
A – I J – R S – Z
Side/Salad Main Dessert
All new students have received information via snailmail, so if you know of a new-to-RHS band family, please reach out and let them know about our emails and website.
Fall Band Camp is the first weekend after school starts - September 11-13! This is a great way for the kids to get together and start off their year. If your student is unsure about Marching Band, this is a great way for them to explore it and meet other band students at the same time. Marching Band is voluntary, and many kids are not able to commit to the entire season, but they can still participate if they know the drill. What they learn in Band Camp is also used for parades and Pep Band, which starts with the basketball season. FBC and Health forms will be uploaded on the website shortly. No student will be allowed to attend camp without a Health Form.
And while your student is at Band Camp...our first Husky Clean-Up will be September 13.This is our primary fundraiser...you'll hear more about it at the picnic. But if you have an hour or two that Sunday morning, join us at Husky Stadium!
Uniform fittings: all students who want to participate in Marching Band can be fitted for a uniform during Roughrider Day, September 8.We will have additional times after school.
You can also find us on Facebook: Roosevelt High School Band Boosters, or go to the website: http://www.riderband.org/
See you all in a couple of weeks!
