LAB FEE FOR CONCERT AND SYMPHONIC BANDS AND WIND ENSEMBLE

There is a lab fee of $60.00 to cover the cost of music, school busses, instrument repair and coaches.  Payment can be made through "School Pay" or by check. Checks should be made to Roosevelt High School with "Band" and your student's name in the memo line.  Checks may be returned to the mailbox in the band room.

Agenda includes: band finances, near-term events, field trips, chaperone needs and more.

Roosevelt Rough Riders vs. Rainier Beach Vikings
​Friday, September 29th
Memorial Stadium - 5:00 p.m.

Marchers:  Meet by the band room after school to get your uniform.  Do not forget your black socks!
Buses will depart for Memorial Stadium from 15th Ave. N.E. at approximately 4:15 p.m. and return at approx. 8:00 p.m.

​Parents: We need help with uniforms.  Please email Kathy if you can help with uniform distribution and/or collection.  For distribution help, please meet by the uniform room at 3:20.

Practices will be after school on Mondays, Wednesdays and Thursdays.  
Mondays: 3:40 - 5:30
Wednesdays: 2:25 - 4:30

Thursdays: After marching band practice until 5:30

Thank you to everyone who auditioned for the 2017-2018 Marching Band.  Placements are as follows:
SNARE: Jackson*, Henry, Emma, Aidan, Addie, and Faye
TENOR: Jack, Taylor, Benny, and Solomon (Henry*)
BASS: Petyr, Jackson*, Eilidh, Finn, Nikolas, Ethan, and Christian
CYMBALS: Jacob*, Sawyer, Celine, Wilson, and Zeke

Marching Band Practices

September 12-October 28 - Begin after school marching practice. Every Tuesday and Thursday 3:45-4:30pm.
Additionally, Field Practice on 10/13 (prior to Homecoming) 2:00-3:00

FRIDAY, September 29- Rainier Beach @ RHS HOME game, 5:00pm* (Memorial Stadium)
FRIDAY, October 13 – Garfield@ RHS HOMECOMING game, 5:00pm* (Memorial Stadium)
FRIDAY, October 20 –Eastside Catholic@ RHS HOME game, 7:45pm* (Memorial Stadium)
Post-Season Dates to be announced.

*Students will meet in the Band Room and get into uniforms 1 hour and 30 minutes prior to game time. Buses will depart RHS 45 minutes prior to game time. Parents should expect buses to return to the school approximately 3 hours after game time. All students must be in full uniform for all games.

2017 Roosevelt High School Fall Marching Band Camp
U.W. Pack Forest Conference Center in Eatonville, WA
Friday, September 8th – Sunday, September 10th
 
 Friday, September 8th
Arrive at RHS by 5:00 p.m. 
Leave from RHS (15th Ave. N.E.) at 6:00 p.m. and travel to Pack Forest
 Students should eat dinner prior to getting on the bus
 Upon Arrival at camp room assignments will be distributed and camp rules discussed
 Snacks are provided Friday Night

Saturday, September 9th
Breakfast
Music Rehearsal
 Lunch
 Marching and Field Work Practice
 Dinner
 Music/Marching Rehearsal

Sunday, September 10th
 Breakfast and quick pack up/tidy up
 Music/Marching Rehearsal
 Return to RHS (15th Ave. N.E.) at 12:30 p.m.
 
What to Pack:
  • Instrument
  • Refillable water bottle, insect repellent, sun screen and any medication
  • Clothing for two days including rain gear (we will march regardless of weather)
  • Personal toiletries including soap, shampoo and deodorant
  • Comfortable shoes and clothing for marching – we march rain, shine, or ash
 
What Not to Bring:
  • Bedding and Towel
  • Anything that would break the Code of Conduct that you signed
