Sophomores - Cleared for Take Off!

3/23/2017

Calling all Band Students: It's time for the Elliot Bay Music Educators Association Band Festival at Ingraham High School!

A note from Director Brown:

We have been APPROVED to have all Sophomore Band students participate in the EBMEA Band Festival at Ingraham on Tuesday, then take the SBAC make-up (if necessary) on Wednesday.

I have distributed:
  1. Permission forms (two-sided white paper)  Here is the form if you need a copy.
  2. Field Trip Pre-Planned absence forms (one-sided pink) for teacher signatures

These forms should be completed and turned-in to the Band Box in the Band Room, no later than Monday, March 27.

ALL Concert Band, Symphonic Band and Wind Ensemble students should arrive in the Roosevelt Band Room at 8:45 on Tuesday morning in CONCERT ATTIRE. Please be sure of formal dress shoes, black socks, black slacks, etc. There is no room for sloppy or casual attire. Girls need to dress formal and conservative: no short skirts or bare shoulders. Boys need to have long-sleeved shirts (ironed, with sleeves buttoned, not rolled-up) and NO JEANS or athletic shoes.

We will depart Roosevelt no later than 9:30a.m. and return to Roosevelt by 2:00p.m., in time to attend 6th period classes.

Students should bring a sack lunch, or money to purchase lunch at Ingraham.

The performance schedule is as follows:

9:15   Ingraham Symphonic Band
10:00 Hale Symphonic Band
10:30 Roosevelt Concert Band
11:00 Ballard Symphonic Band
11:30 Roosevelt Symphonic Band
NOON        Lunch
12:30 Ballard Wind Ensemble
1:00   Roosevelt Wind Ensemble
1:30   Ingraham Wind Ensemble

ALL students are expected to fully participate in performance, adjudication and LISTENING!

I am REALLY looking forward to a great day of sharing music!

-Brown
